Hello All,
Thought I would share some pics of the Xbox 360 Wireless Arcade Control Panels myself and my friend Mark finally got finished this weekend. They turned out pretty darn good in my opinion, but hey, exactly what else would I say. I built the boxes and came up with the button layouts, Mark hacked the wireless controllers and claims to have only ruined 1 in the process, not bad really :-). The action shot from below is myself and my good friend John trying out a game of Robotron just as soon as we got them in our hot little hands.

Thanks for taking time to look, if you have any questions or comments, by all means, please share.

That's pretty hot!

Thank you for not saying that he's pretty hot. That would mean that you were looking at the wrong portion of the picture, instead of my wiring. ;D

what size wire is that you are using? It really looks tiny and wouldn't take much to snap one or more of them. Do they connect to a computer or just the XBox?

Mark used wireless controllers so they are only for the Xbox360. Since the connections are under the control panel I dont think breaking anything will be an issue, I will certainly let you know if it does happen however. Its my understanding the wires are small but surprisingly sturdy and made the hacking of the digital connections on the controllers ALOT easier than using a thinker, more convention wire.

I used 30AWG wire. It is tiny, but much easier to work with on the D-pad connections. There isn't a very large pad to solder to, and the traces pull from the PCB quite easily. So easily in fact that it was the cause of death on the first controller I tried.

So I'm assuming you've hacked your 360 and are playing MAME on it...

No No, nothing that technical. Just using the controller to play some of the Xbox Live Arcade games the way God ( and Saint ) intended.

With this adaptor (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/default.htm), you could use those with MAME on your PC as well.

exactly. the reason he used that small guage wire is it makes the project a lot easier for the d-pad. the other connections are very easy compared to doing the d-pad. pain.
