Post by: tommyinajar on February 10, 2007, 10:00:19 pm

You need to figure out what size screw will fit through the hole in your joystick mounting plate to answer this.

Can you fit a 1/4 screw through it or only a 10-24?

10-24 can be used on almost anything.

10-24 is standard for use in America.

I picked up some 10-24 x 5/16" (I believe) at Home Depot along with some 10-24 1/2" machine screws (note:  I used 3/4" wood but routed out a recess for the joysticks).  So far so good.

Yea I looked at Home Depot I think they wanted 4 or 5 bucks for 4 of them !!

That seems ridiculous when I can get 50 of them from http://www.mcfeelys.com/ for like 10 bucks.

Wow, that's crazy.  I picked up the 12 t-nuts (4 per package) and a packet of bolts and I could have sworn I only paid like $7-8.

Still, can't beat the price online.  Plus you have plenty to work with should things go wrong ... err, should you build multiple CP's.
