Originally I wanted to buy an X-Arcade Stick but alot of people said it sucked.
Then people recommended the Hot Rod, which is the one Im planning on ordering Tomorrow:

I just want to make sure there aren't any better ones out there for around that price

Well those Super 8s on there are MUCH nicer than the x arcade ones will ever be, So Id say it looks pretty solid. plus i mean $100 is a great price

cool

HotRod is PS2/ only. No programmable.
-
what can I do with programming?
-
Originally, when I had an X-arcade I did have a couple programs...but now I just program MAME accordingly. However there are a lot of retroremakes games that are defaulted for keyboards: space - ctrl - etc. I don't have mine panel set with these and haven't decided if I want to so I just don't play those games. Something to think about though.
-
Some games doesn't allowto change key configuration. Then only one way is programming stick for these games.
-
so hot rod is not good for mame?
-
HotRod is good for MAME!!!
In my honest opinion, the HotRod has a much more "arcade" feel to the sticks. It is also SOLIDLY built. I gave one to my brother-in-law Christmas before last.

thanks
what about using the Hot Rod on NES, SNES, GENESIS, ETC emulators? are they as good?
also on the MAME 32 settings for the controller, there is a Setting for X-Arcade as well as HOTROD, so I'm using choosing that will set up the HotRod for sweet mame gaming?

That's where complications could arise. Some emulators don't allow custom key mapping. But, in reality, odds are that you aren't going to want use those emulators anyway. Pretty much all the best emulators allow key mapping. I recommend just going for it and buying the one you're looking at.
