So I am 95% done with my first cabinet. It looks good but I have an x-arcade controller in it because I am still just learning. I would like to build my own controls now and just realized that I originally removed the blitz 99 4 player controls and replaced them with the X-arcade ones.
So I have 4 49-way joys and if i remember correctly 16 various color buttons.
Can I salvage these and create my own with this?
What else do I need if so?
Can I use the encoder in the X-aracde?
(Sorry for the nub terminology, I'm pulling a blank here.)
Thanks all!

If they are really 49 ways, you will need a 49-way encoder such as GGG's:
GGG GPwiz49 (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=202&zenid=0c88e4fef3744d2c92a3a1ac5bdc78e0)
The buttons can most likely go with the XArcade encoder.

I have a NFL Blitz 99 Showcase cabinet that I converted to MAME. I use the 49-Way joysticks and love them. You will need one GP-Wiz49 for each controller, so in my case 4. Buy the deluxe version with the screw terminals. Using the the IDE cable sucks! Otherwise, worth every penny.

Just hold on to them for now. Randy from GGG is almost finished with a new interface that will take two of these joysticks on one card. It is something to be on the look out for in the next week or two. I'm supposed to get one of the first ones off the line as soon as they are ready.
