I put in a new kitchen recently. I also installed a dishwasher which was the reason for a new kitchen, no dishwasher before hand. I'm curious to know what you guys think about the countertop above the dishwasher. I was thinking of putting some minwax or something to protect the countertop but was unsure of what to use. I feel as the countertop will eventually warp overtime from the steam put out by the dishwasher. Any idea on how to protect the counterto directly above the dishwasher? :dunno

I'm not sure what kind of product you used, but mine is well over 10 years old now. The dishwasher has been installed for the last 5 of thoses years.
The steam from our Maytag dishwasher is pushed out of a vent in the front of the unit. The countertop does get very warm above the washer but we've seen no problems with warping or peeling laminate.
