Title: Replaygain tags in OGG VORBIS
Post by: garyh on February 09, 2007, 03:57:07 pm
Hi Chris (or anyone else who may know!)

Do you know if DOSCAB will take account of REPLAYGAIN tags and adjust the volume accordingly? I don't want to put all my OGGs through VorbisGain if DOSCAB doesn't recognise them.

All the best

Gary

I don't really know, I've never heard of that tag. I use a third-party library to handle OGG's, so it might.  Simple test: Put one through with a ridiculously high or low gain set and see what it does...

Rumor has it that OGG support may be broken in the latest version; I'm going to try to fix  the outstanding issues this weekend.

Hi Chris,

It doesn't. Did a test as you suggested.

Yes, OGG is broken in the latest version - hope your weekend is successful. Thanks again for your efforts, great program.

After a little searching around, that tag doesn't appear to be widely adopted; it may not be difficult for me to add support for it, though.  I'll add it to my To-Do list to look at more closely.
