I live in Peachtree City, what kind of stuff will be for sale?
http://www.superauctions.com/
You name it, it will probably be there... pretty much any type of coin-operated amusement devices:
Video Games of all kinds...Classics, Fighters, Sit-down driving games, cocktails, uprights, minis, Golden Tees, Multicades, junkers, etc... Prices can be anywhere between $1 to $2000 or more depending on condition and desirability of the machine...
Pinballs... old ones, newer ones... these usually get quite expensive...
Video poker/slots... Mega Touch machines... these can get expensive also...
Pachincos, Skill Cranes, Juke boxes, pool tables, air hockey, redemptions, Skeeballs, etc... Prices vary greatly on these...
Here is a link to one of the past auctions... only pins and vids listed, but they had all the other stuff there as well:

These are a lot of fun... bring cash, a buddy, and a truck... chances are they will probably have something very interesting that you will wanna buy ;D

Those pix were from like the best auction I have ever been to. SO MUCH STUFF!
Check out the BYOAC Auction Wiki (http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Arcade_Auctions_1) if you have never been to one. But you gotta go if you can. It IS an experience. just don't eat the ham and cheese um...shitwiches sandwiches.
EDIT: I had originally thought I had a wedding to do sound for next week. I am not sure if I am still on to do it or not, so I may be able to go. I just have to convince the wife that I will not be bring home any more toys.

Hey Art,
could we (assuming I can go) split up the room and record the prices that the stuff goes for. I can put it together and put it up on the Wiki. The last one I recorded was about a year ago. It will be interesting to see the difference.
If more of the BYOAC folk come we could divide it even more so there is less work across the board.
-
I am hoping to go. I saw the price list from last year and it seems to be about what it was when I went many years ago. Hopefully Ill be there with some friends, two trucks, and a minivan. Granted I am only looking for a handful of arcade games, but Pachinko machines you say, I think I can use one of those in my office. Can you ballpark what the average pachinko machine went for? If not, dont worry about it.

No problem... We can tag-team it... Last auction I went to was in Charlotte, NC. and I took a little 3x5 spiral memo pad for my note taking... much more handy than using the clipboard method... I will bring a couple of these for price recording...
There was some guy there with a laptop taking down prices... Hey, if you got the technology... you might as well use it ;)...

At the Charlotte auction, they had TONS of Pachinkos, probably like 70 pieces, and a lot of them NIB!!! I was not really paying too much attention to the Pachinkos... But nobody seemed very interested in them... I think the auctioneers were having lots of trouble just getting $100 for each... :dunno
Anyway, I do not remember seeing any Pachinkos at the Atlanta auctions last year... but they may have some at this one...

I can not go.
-
BUMMER DUDE... :( :( :(
Anybody else know if they are going or not???
-
I will be there . I moved to Macon this past month. Have no money :( but will definitely be there. It will be my first time at an auction so I can get the feel for them

Alright!!! Glad you can make it!!!
Make sure you get there at 8am if you want to play the games... They preview for 2 hours, then they start auctioning... after they start auctioning, all the other games may or may not be powered up...
-
I didn't see your post until today - I've already got plans...I think!
-
I will not know until Friday night. Mainly it deals with others and if they can go, since I would really prefer not to go by myself, I mean I do not believe I can move a cab into a vehicle by myself.
But I see on the website that the superauctions now accept all major credit cards. But I am interested in if there is a coverage fee, its been almost six years since I went to one so my mind is a bit fizzled.
-
I may try to be there.
-
Hey Guys
Didn't see the post until today. I will be there with the fam., but I will have to leave around 2-3pm. My son has a Birthday Party to go to in Alpharetta. It's unlikely I'll buy anything this time anyway (exception being an environmental DOT).

I've asked this question at least 10 times in 10 different threads and I have yet to get a single reply...
Does anyone know if any arcade auctions EVER make it to the Boise, Idaho area?
Thanks!

You compained about not getting a single response ... now you have one.
Cheers
EDIT: Besides, what are you going to buy at auction ? I thought your wife won't let you have any more cabs.
-
Well, my lunch plans apparently fell through and my wife is interested in seeing what goes on at one of these, so we may be there. Anyone know what the admission fee is though?

I figure it'd be fun to check out. I have never been to one.

No admission fee... no registration fee... Open to the public!!!
Bring a bag lunch, picnic basket, portable chairs, etc... make an outing of it!!!
Remember to bundle up too, they may have the bay doors open all the time as they are usually loading and unloading machines through out the day...
And if you actually want to play the games... make sure you get there between 8am and 10am as they usually shut down most of the games when the auction starts around 10:15am or so... after that, you may or may not be able to get power to the remaining games, and you probably won't be able to play the games that have been sold already as they now belong to somebody.
Hope you can make it... enjoy

Fantastic. I did find out that my friend who is riding with me must be back up in Atlanta by 3, so while truncated it should still be fun. I think our 100 foot cables should be long enough...I should also have some 40s just incase thats too long.
My view is, if we dont win anything, Ill just come home and order my parts to build another control panel and finish my Virtual On ones. I have the thought of a Shanghai Alice themed cab.

They had at 2 full rows of dead and partial cabs, at least 100 pieces...Most of them with boards and monitors...lots of them went for $1,$5, or $10. Lots of Williams cabinets most with wood-grain formica sides... Lots of Pac and Galaga Cabs again with wood-grain sides... Lots of fighter-style cabs...
Towards the end, they were having trouble giving these away for $1... nobody had anymore room in their trucks...

WARLORDS... NICE!!! $210
Asteroids (non-working, nice cab... $50)
Space Duel (Working, Excellent condition) $225

...Damn! $.50 for a cabinet...if only they would visit Boise...i'd be a dead man!
-
Geeez.... I need auctions like that near me !!
-
Damn, we had to leave after the Aerofigther went for too much, I wanted that Raiden II. Ohwell next time I am telling everyone to not expect us to be at a hospital later that day...Time to send ponyboy an email.
-
Those multi-games have some decent amount of work put into them, the whole cab looks amazing.
-
How late did the auction run? Last one I went to up here in NC took nearly 12 hours to get through all the stuff. Seeing as how I'd mostly be interested in the odds and ends that gets auctioned last it gets tiresome waiting around all day for them to get to it. I've got a 24' truck though and it'd be worth the trip if I could fill it up with usable cabs for less than the gas it'd take to drive down there costs. ;)
-
I can't remember what all tools you need to bring, but you should definately bring your own extension cord to plug in games you want to see during the preview. Just keep an eye on it and don't just leave it plugged up or someone will take it to plug up another machine and not bring it back or it might get sold with the cab.
-
The first cab hit Ebay Monday, hit the Atlanta Craigslist today. That trashy Blitz 99 machine that needed a new monitor, and joysticks, they want $600 for it.
-
Wow some of those prices where nice!! I think they are having one in cali soon. I'll have to dig around and see if I can get to one!
-
Anybody have any pictures of whatever they bought at the auctions???
