Post by: tommyinajar on February 04, 2007, 04:32:43 pm
I know about the 19 DPI but how do you print it out on a 8 1/2 inch printer ? Maybe some banner type software ?

 Any sticky's or answers ??

 Thanks !

I use visio which allows you to print out an image across multiple sheets of paper.

This image is an example. I printed this out and it spanned 6 pieces of paper.

Your other option is to have Kinkos print it out.

You have to import the image into a separate program. Something like Photoshop, Gimp, or Paint.net should work, since they allow you to adjust DPI and page distribution. Alternatively, you can reconstruct the CP by using the measurements it gives. Then, you can piece together the papers like leapinlew shows.

Agreed, although the only program you'll need is Microsoft Paint, which comes with windows.  It automatically tiles images onto multiple sheets when printing.

I do all mine with poster7 as mention by someone here.  The trial give you 10 printout which should be enough for most.  Just google poster7.

I wasn't going to recommend paint though, as I'm not sure what DPI it runs at, and therefore can't accurately stretch the image. If someone knows, then go for it. Otherwise, Gimp and Paint.net are both freeware.

I'm pretty sure you can change the DPI in paint, I used it many times for printing out large images (including the control panel layout for both my cabs) and it works great.

could also try rasterbator (google it) - seems to be promising for VERY large printouts.
