I swear I saw a pushbutton that would work great for volume control. It looked like a regular round pushbutton, but the button itself was actually 2 buttons in one (two half-moon shaped pushbuttons). I know Happ has some square buttons that do this, but I want to stay with round buttons if possible.
If I remember correctly this "dual pushbutton" would fit in your typical 1 1/8" mounting hole.
Anyone else ever seen this? I can't seem to find it now that I'm upgrading to MAME .110 and can map Vol+ and Vol- to individual pushbuttons.
If anyone has a clue what I'm talking about please post a link for purchasing such a button. Thanks!

I know I've seen another site that sells these, too. I remember seeing a pic of it. But here is a site that sells what I think what you are looking for.

Finally! A source for triple buttons. I've never been able to find a source for those anywhere. Hopefully this company is still open.

Holy crap! That background about burned my eyes out.
What would one do with a triple button?

That is freakin awesome... You're telling me I can get twice the hidden function button power with equal the real estate?

They're used on some fruit machine gamblers....

Nope!! Sorry.... they do fit into a 1-1/8" hole but the top section is much larger, so it will take up control panel space.

I have a relief pitcher cabinet. The game is designed to work with theses buttons. The on screen instructions even show the triple button.

These are simply cool, thanks for the information.

FYI, the people who run that site never got back to me, so I'd say they are long gone.

Ya, I tried to get ahold of them about 6 months ago. No dice. :dunno

Thanks for all the replies. I checked out MikesArcade and indeed that was the button I had seen months ago. Here is the link again:

In a fit of excitement I ordered the pushbutton for my volume control (I'm going to map the double pushbutton to control windows volume using a free program called volume tray). Unfortunately I didn't notice that the top of the button is HUGE! Yes it fits a 1 1/8 hole, but it looks stupidly large next to regular happ buttons. :(
The good news is Volume Tray works great with mame. Check out the link below if your looking for a volume control solution w/o using a pot. You can map any 2 pushbuttons for vol+ and vol- on you mame!

Hmmm.... does that Volume Tray app work using shifted inputs?
I'd like to set up something like this:
joytick up + button1 = volume up
joytick down + button1 = volume down

It should do, all it does is use hotkeys you can assign, so it should work okay with the shift function of IPAC.

LOL, I would post pics, but I never mounted the dual pushbutton because it looked so silly next to the normal buttons. I think it would work great if you could hide the button somewhere out of site, but then it's not all that useful. Oh well.

You could've put it somewhere on the cab or through the bezel, perhaps.
