The scum bag who is selling MAME (and using Arcade 84 animations, etc) is back again. Here is his latest link:

He always has SOMETHING.zimmtech.net in his url...
...is there ANY WAY to get this piece of garbage put out of business FOR GOOD?

That was fast...all it took was a single email telling him not to pick up the soap...but I am sure all he has done is change the prefix of his URL....something like "scumbag.zimmtech.com" or something....

You have to admire his determination.
I also noticed in the ad it said you had to type in the address not copy and paste...I wonder if it makes a difference???

Yes it does make a difference, I had to type it in, copy and paste didn't work.
EDIT: I just tried it again and it didn't work. Hmm perhaps he only lets you visit a certain amount of times or something, then you get redirected.

Most likely he's checking the http referer and if there is one, he redirects. If he's smart he's probably doing it in the web server rather than client side. Where would you actually report something like this?

In the contact section under the "report abuse of MAME trademark". If he's doing redirects, include the original url from craigslist or wherever.
I believe they've talked with this guy before. Let them ramp it up.

I've reported this Jizz Ball so many times that I'm starting to think that the Mame Devs don't have any teeth!
The downside to that, is that he must be starting to think the same thing.

As much fun as that may be, he might be the type of guy to turn you in for impersonating a Federal agent. Also, tampering with his website probably isn't a very good idea.
Your best bet may be to contact the copyright owners of the ROMs and let them know what he is doing, he'd receive a cease and desist letter pretty quickly. The only issue with that is if they go to all the trouble of trying to take him down, it might bring unwanted action against the MAME community and some of our other backup ROM sources.
It's kind of a catch-22. One thing may be to go directly to the ISP who is hosting the account and let them know what he is doing may be illegal and that they could be named in any sort of lawsuit. That may at the very least get his account disable temporarily.
Please, don't do anything illegal to the guy or you're just stooping to his level and asking for trouble.

OK Guys.... The Dirtbag's Name is "Paul Zimmerman", a computer engineer and software author. You'd think that a software author would care a bit more about copyright infringement. Maybe we should just steal all of his work and post it up for sale on the web.
He's using a Dynamic IP address and his own servers at home, which is why it disapears and re-appears, as the Dynamic DNS catches up. So the only people you could complain to would be his actual home ISP and Telecoms provider.

Don't you see...he CALLS himself a Software Engineer when in fact he is a thief...pure and simple. By calling himself a Software Engineer...and producing his website in the manor of which he has...while he doesn't SAY he created the software running these "1,600 Arcade Classics", but you get that IMPRESSION by association.
The guy is a dirtbag of the highest order. I am pretty damn sure all his contact info is BS. Hell, I would be surprised if the tools name was actually Paul Zimmerman. I bet that is his photo though...he looks like a dick.

Looks like the whole site is down. Go to the default web address www.zimmtech.net and all you see is some PHP information. It is possible that this guy's site was hacked to sell MAME. He found out and took the site down for a rebuild and security patches.

There's no doubt whatsoever that this idiot reads these forums, and is more than likely a member here. Rather than just being a theiving TOOL everywhere else.

As for his site being hacked and him not knowing about it and taking it down to repair! That's just major B.S. He's been in trouble with the Mame Devs more than once, he's just at it yet again. He's a criminal, and not a very bright one either!! in all honesty, what do you expect from a thief!!

Well his address is not hard to find out. So if anyone is near Miami then I gues you can find him there. There is even a google map location where to find him.

So, has anyone actually contacted his ISP yet? That's the best and quickest way to go about getting him shut down. Not that it seems to matter, since his site is never up anyway.
