in case anyone is wondering
nes, snes and genesis work great on the system
i haven't tried out the playstation emulator (its legality is questionable, think back on the smash pack for the dreamcast) it may be a hacked version of the sony emulator
but i hear that it works really really well
i've been putting off ripping some of my games to isos so that i can try it out

Very cool news.. this means that (for the moment) any and all PSPs can be downgraded, and hopefully updated to the OE firmwares. They really make the PSP shine.
The PSX emulator for PSP works amazingly well. It has really made me want to use my PSP again after ripping all of my old PSX games.
GBA emulation has gotten much better as well in the past few months, in addition to what you mentioned.

been playing FF7 on my PSP lately. plays 99.9% flawlessly.

I imagine that this basically kills the resell premium that 1.5 PSPs had? That's a good thing I think.
And yeah, the PSX emu is awesome. I've been slowly picking through my collection looking for games that would play best on the PSP format...

The PSP scene has to slow down. I can't afford another console, handheld or not! :banghead:

I absolutely LOVE my psp. It is the perfect portable entertainment system...I take it on plane flights to watch movies and play games, we took it to dinner the other night to share photos of a recent vacation with another couple, when my wife and I go shopping, I take along the trusty PSP so when she takes an hour trying on stuff at some boring store, I find a nice chair and play some Burnout Legends.....
I bet the 1.5's still carry a slight premium, as they are basically idiot-proof, but with all the new exploits and downgraders, much less so.

the 1.5 premiums, at least on the sites I frequent, has been all but gone for quite a while now. You could get a few bucks more for a 1.5 perhaps.. but the days of 1.5 PSPs being substantially more expensive than any others have been gone for a while now.
And yeah, this definitely kills that premium even more.
