I'm referring to a standard video out (whatever it may be) on video cards on a PC.
I want the authentic experience, just wondering if you could buy a real 27" arcade monitor from like Happs that will work with the computer automatically
-
these days there may be
i just found an old tatug that claims to be a vga monitor, haven't tried it yet...
-
most manufacturers now make multi sync monitors(automatically search for the frequency input),these plug direct into the vga out of a graphics card
some i know of are betson, hantarex, wells gardner
there is a guy who posts on this forum called rick nieman(nieman displays) who i believe can supply this type of monitor,it may be worth while sending him a pm

Yes, Grant is right, I offer a tri-mode monitor in 24.*", 27" and 39".
This monitor will accept CGA (Standard) , Mid Res (24.3 Khz) and VGA 31Khz 640X480
all with a flat tube.
Also a 27" that will do as high as 1024X768.
Feel free to contact me for more info.

Yes, Several. There are some made by Nieman, Billabs, Happ Controls, Betson, and others that allow both PC and Arcade Resolutions that will plug into a VGA port. Here are some important things to know:
* Standard Res - 15Khz (CGA) - most MAME raster games run at this resolution (200-300 vertical pixels)
* Medium Res - 24Khz (EGA) - Used for a few arcade games ((301-405 vertical pixels)
* High Ress - 31Khz (VGA) - Used for entry level PC graphics, and some newer arcade games (406-480 vertical pixels) - 640x480 mode is common
* SVGA Res (SVGA) - 38Khz - Used for Windows and PC Graphics (600 Vertical Lines) - for example 800x600 mode
* XGA Res (48Khz) - Used for PC Graphics up to 1024x768
Try to get a monitor that will run the modes you want to run. Please note that to run at 15Khz or 25Khz, you need a video card that can run at these resolutions.
