The jukebox is the same one imortalised in the movie Ghost with Demi Moore, it looks fantastic and so easy to follow , im making one, so excited about it, i have always wanted one of the classic jukeboxes...search Ami Continental on ebay, the bloke is from the U.K
-
Just bought them? Weren't you pushing these plans on the jukebox mailing list a year ago?

Ami Continental Jukebox Plans
--------------------------------------
Step 1) Obtain Ami Continental jukebox on ebay
Thanks for your business!
-
Ok .Hands up I got caught !!!
.well i tried.
I am selling them on eBay, i will post some pics of the build on here if you want, how do i add photos ?
-
hi all sorry about the spamming !! well i tried !
I made the first jukebox a few years ago and sold it on eBay and this bloke from London bid up to £5200 on it ! I was expecting nothing like that price, He could of bought an original one for a lot less !
So I made another one and sold that on ebay for a lot less.
In my spare time i have made around 8 different Ami jukeboxes, I decided to write the book because i was sick of living in my workshop in my spare time.
So the last one I made which Im going to eBay next week, I took over 500+ photo's of the complete build, and edited them into a manual/step by step guide.
I will post some photos of the build on here if anybody wants a look, and it is easier than it looks, and most of the materials i bought from my local B & Q, except the dome and the mural...sorry again ! how do you put photos on here ?
-
Sounds neat. Unfortunately Saint has been pretty active lately, so I doubt you'll be here for much longer.
-
I will post a few pics from the ebook !

When I saw this, my first thought was that looks like something off of "Lost In Space" (the tv series). Maybe even "Robbie the robot" as a jukebox or some.
-
The replica jukebox is a copy of the 1962 Ami Continental jukebox, it has great styling, a bit Jetsons looking, of all the jukeboxes made its my fave, looks modern and totally unique, i made the replicas because i could not afford the real thing then , but have since bought a real one which i have in my Kitchen/diner and is a real thing of beauty.
The replicas are a little bit smaller, because the original is a right beast and in a normal home can look a bit large !
-
Where would you get that bubble?
-
Hi i sell the murals the red/orange light diffuser on the front and the domes , but everything else is from B&Q / Depot.
I had the domes made up at a local plastic moulders, and the murals i get from a jukebox shop
-
Approx how much would a set of the murals and dome run? I've lusted after one of these for years but they have always been out of reach. What did you use for internals?

The murals are £25 and the domes are £99.00, for the insides you can use any Rowe Ami jukebox from the R82 model upwards, 1980s jukeboxes onwards. Vinyl but i think the Rowe Ami cd ones would work as well.
I have also used rowe ami hideaway jukeboxes.
I was going to fit a mp3 player in one as well as the vinyl mech, i found a place in USA where you just connect this interface box to your CCC and you can select tracks from your mp3 player.

-
Damn nnip'n'ttuk... your lucky your peddling something interesting... else your ass would have already been on a flight outta here!!!
-
Very impressive. That is a very unique project, and it looks like you invested quite a bit of work. Good luck on selling your plans. Next time, be honest up front dude. Hate to break it to ya, but you would have probably sold quite a few sets if you would have been straight about it. Welcome to the boards.
-
Hi thanks a lot, yes it took me forever to photograph the build and edit it, I also opened a Yahoo groups site for people building them, to ask questions or post any photos etc or just add there own tips or chat.
I sold quite a few of the Ebooks on disc and even had Mark Evans the bloke from Build a MG car fame asking for a disc to have a look at !
I was going to build a website to show more of the ebook on but not got round to it yet.
-
I am still working on my website, could anybody recommend and host servers ?

I'm late to the party as usual...
Cool looking product! I must admit I began reading this thread to watch a spammer get crucified. I'm glad, yet sad, it didn't turn out that way.
-
To resurrect a long dormant thread,
If someone wants to build one of these , I have all the internals from a Rowe R-86 that are very clean and working correctly. Also comes with a full set of plans. This is one I built , just changing over to a cd machine
$250 in Phoenix
Thanks Gregg

Delivery to London, Ontario, for $50? :)
