Hey, I tried searching for this and checked the "power everything at once" thread but doesn't seem to be there. What I want to do is power the TV in my cab by turning on the power strip, and not by hitting the TV on switch.
I don't know if this is possible or if only some TVs can do this, but obviously when you turn off the power from a powerstrip, the TV will turn off, but when the power is flipped back on, the TV doesn't come back on, it needs to be switched on with its switch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe I've read here that you can tape the tv's on switch down. I can't seem to find the thread now but I think that would do the trick for you.

That's awesome! I'm going to try that out. Now all I have to do is figure out how to power on the PC the same way, but I'm hoping there's an option in bios that will let me do that. There's got to be a way.

With some TVs this is not possible, even with holding down the power switch (like mine dammit). This is usually something people look for in a new TV for their cabinets (this and the TV's ability to remember the last channel/input when powered back on).

well I got mine really cheap from goodwill, so that was the deal I went with. I didn't even think about it not keeping the same channel on the tv, I hope it does on this one. I'll have to find out. Thanks for all the help and links.

If you feel like doing a little rewireing you could setup a one button power on/off system using a relay in the power strip that runs off the PC. Or you could get one of the PowerMites from NiceMite (aka whammoed on the boards). Here is a link to his site. http://www.nicemite.com/PowermiteDD/PowermiteDD.htm (http://www.nicemite.com/PowermiteDD/PowermiteDD.htm)

I did this with my TV in my cab, but mine is a newer set and in the setup there is a selection for power-up on power. So the TV starts when i switch the power strip on; actually I don't switch it on, I have a remote that powers it on like a christmas tree remote.
So if you TV doesn't have that option in it's setup then you will have to do as Kaytrim suggested and re-wire the power-on button...

Another options is to turn on the power strip when you turn on the TV. Buy a SmartStrip (http://www.bitsltd.net/SmartStrip/index.htm) and plug your TV into the control outlet. Then when you turn on the TV the powerstrip will turn on everything else for you.
My friend does this. He can power on his arcade cabinet with his TV's remote control.
