With the wife bedridden and all, we haven't been doing much other than watching tv and playing games while at home the last few weeks.
Anyways, we just finished the 1st season of Scrubs, and it has to be the funniest show I've ever seen. It is also a very smart show, especially how they tie in serious events to the comedy without it being stupid or out of place.
If you haven't seen it before, I highly recommend you check it out.

I recently discovered this show now that they're playing it twice a night on comedy central. It is now my favorite comedy show that has been on in the past 10 years!
Very funny stuff!
Unfortunately, I have a prior engagement for every Thursday night from here to eternity so I can't watch this season as it happens but I'll be sure to pick up the entire series on DVD when deals get them closer to $20 than the $35 they are now.

Sheesh, with BSG, SG-1, SGA, Heroes, House, SP, RvB and TDS all to watch every week, how am I going to fit Scrubs in as well? I mean, I'm no superman. ;)

Heroes was good last night. Didn't Hiro get a Golden Globe nomination?
What do you think was up with the radioactive guy? I am thinking he is being trained to be an assasin or something with the way he was sitting there practising controlling his powers.

I think you might want to remember that not all of us have the benefit of living in the USA, and have to wait about six - eight months for new episodes unless they, ahem, fall out of a leaky pipe seal of the interwebs (usually after a couple of days). :'(

But I get the impression that the horn-rimmed glasses group is more a sort of 'independent consortium' than either being good guys or bad guys. Sort of like what "The Trust" was in SG-1 before they got taken over. I do think the scene with the two of them reading each others minds during the interrogation was cute though. And yes, Hiro has done an excellent job in showing how he changes from geek to true hero.
edit - apparently there are 30,000 people trying to help "keep those pipes a clean" of hero bits, and even TDS doesn't usually get that high! :o

I've been preaching this show to all my friends and family for years now. Totally hilarious, and as you said, also very smart.
I wonder why people haven't seen it before? It's been on for 6 years now, and it started at the time slot just after friends.

Judging from previews, I always thought it would be a stupid show...of course I've thought that about all the shows that I have really liked before watching them (Buffy, Angel, Lost...).
Also, I watched Garden State & was bored to death. Didn't exactly make me want to go watch the show for sure.

Yeah, I thought that Garden State really rode the line between boring and less-boring. Actually, I think Zach Braff (Dr. Dorian, bambi, etc) wrote the screenplay for that movie.

The flash player does some kind of voodoo magic and tells me I'm not supposed to watch it from that location. I figure I could probably work out how to proxy my way around that, but for that much effort I'd rather just have an AVI sans adverts that I can stop and start whenever I like. Meh, only have another hour to go anyway. :)

love Scrubs, Started watching it recently on comedy central. (I used to watch it on and off but now I'm really hooked)
Did anybody see last weeks Scrubs Musical?
The Wife and I were laughing so hard.....

I caught the end of it. There were several musically themed episodes in season 1 also, but not fully blown musical.
Nothing can beat the Buffy musical though.

I think you answered your own question...

I knew someone would say something like this. I'm just surprised because of the sheer numbers of friends viewers at the time.
-
Most of which were teenage girls... And you it seems. ;)

In my area, it seemed to be bounced around to different time slots all the time. The "daydreaming" sequences also turn some folks off for some reason. When I ask those who bring that up (and it's often enough that it's gotta be one of the larger reasons), I usually either get a pissy "I don't know, I just DON'T like it", or something along the lines of "it's like they're trying to be a real-life Scooby-Doo or something".
And for those who wish to goof on the fact that they were after Friends, there's a reason you're not a TV exec, and you come off as a 'tard for refusing to acknowledge just how large an audience Friends had.
-
I watched a rerun a couple years ago and was hooked ever since. I don't think this latest season has been as strong as previous seasons, but its still a great show.
-
I absolutely love scrubs. I didnt' start watching until after the 3rd season ended, but my roommate and I caught up on all of the episodes before season 4 started. I'm glad he got me to watch them, because it has become one of my favorite shows.
I never get to watch it on Thursday night since I work, but Thursday is a great night for TV for me now. I have to um..... acquire... quite a few episodes on Friday morning. Earl, Office, Scrubs, 30 Rock.... great lineup

30 rock. Now that is one show I thought would be stupid...and it is. I have seen one episode in full and half of another.
I can't get into My Name is Earl either.
Hmmm..the office = not so good in my book either.
Hey, I think I am beginning to realize why I've never seen scrubs before. ;D
-
I couldn't get into My Name Is Earl until I watched the episodes in order. It's a fun story, and I think Jason Lee is pretty funny so it's really caught my attention. It's another show I didn't watch from the start though.
The Office I love. I'm sorry you don't like it, because I think everyone should watch it. It very clever and insanely funny IMO. One of my fav shows. It also gets a lot better if you watch everything in order, as the storylines really bring you into the characters.
30 rock is ok. It's not a 'must see' in my book, but Alec Baldwin is pretty funny in it, and its a good way to kill 30 mins while I'm doing nothing at work.
My roommate also just introduced me to How I Met Your Mother. I had never even heard of the damn show, but I really like the first 12 episodes or so that I've seen. Very funny, and very likable characters. Plus, Neil Patrick Harris' character in the show is absolutely hilarious. It's worth watching a few episodes just for his character.

Another funny show that suffers from the "when is it on this week/month"issue.
The only problem I have with this show actually has nothing to do with the show. EVERY time I watch it, my wife has to ask me what that particular episode has to do with someone's mother, WHO'S mother is it the show is supposed to be about, blah blah blah blah blah. It's as if she wants to like the show, but can't, because she can't figure out what the title means. ::)
-
The first few years, Scrubs was always against a show I liked better in the same time slot. When it was after Friends it was competing with CSI. Then they moved it to Tuesday nights when there were 3 shows on I liked at the same time. I wish I had made more of an effort to watch it from the start - it's a great show.
-
OT - Ok, I know it was cheezy, but damn I couldn't stop from laughing when they're like "things can't be connected, that's not how life works", right before Hiro walks in and just delivers that "FLYING MAN!" line so perfectly. :laugh2:
-
It's okay. It's predictable as a satire of ER.
