I got one of these as a gift a few years ago. Someone made a how-to guide for (re)enabling the use of your old NES/Famicom carts, instead of the built-in ROMs, it's probably still around on the web somewhere...I gave mine away to a friend so she could play Duckhunt.

Ok so what are these games then???Arcade or nes games???Copies??

NES clones - including clones of NES ports of Arcade games. It has a NES-on-chip IC. The Namco one is different.

I have one and I must say it's pretty nice for the price. Mine has the expansion cartridge slot, but I haven't tried it. It claims to have like 16,000 games on it, but there are really 80 or so (all NES games) and then they just repeat (clones of some sort). The most pleasant surprise is the lightgun which works very well on Hogan's Alley and Duck Hunt. Of all the mini consoles I've bought, it's the only one that hasn't ended up in the garbage. Has anyone actually tried the expansion slot?

I hacked one of those and put it in a little black project box from Radio Shack. One thing to remember is that the cartridge slot on it is actually a Famicom slot, so you'll need a 60-72 pin adapter if you want to play US NES games on it.

There's no hack needed, the N64 shaped controller has a Famicom cartridge slot built into it.
Yeah, and that thing's uncomfortable as all get-out. It digs into your hand when you're playing the built-ins and the cartridge is in a bad spot when you're trying to play carts. The D-pad has issues on that thing too. If I didn't already have a famiclone in colsole form, I'd have hacked it a long time ago.

so would it be hard to wire up some arcade controls to one and stick it in a cab??
