i'm nearing the end of my mame build and I broke my thumb. hoping one of you guys has an old control panel they would sell me. as i discovered this morning cutting and soldering are now a 9.9 on the difficulty scale.
-
For what kind of cabinet?
-
it's an centipede cab. i have some elaborate plans to make a control panel that I won't have to alter the cab (it's in great shape). but with my busted paw I don't think I'll have it up and running by the super bowl.
-
Sounds like a good side job for Peale, if the price is right. His CP-fu is strong.
-
If I had an old Centipede CP I'd do it, but...
-
He sounds like he already has one.
-
i do have one that I'll add a joystick and some buttons to, but with the bad wing I'm not going to have a chance to do any woodwork soon and I would have liked to have it completed by next weekend.
-
Post what your ideas are. You're mentioning woodwork, but Centipede uses a metal CP.
-
i wanted to make 2 wooden control panels. one with a trackball and a spinner and one with 2 joysticks. I wanted to build the panels to fit onto the cab without altering the cab. i can't bring myself to destroy a classic cab for a mame machine. i've seen a lot of people build these gigantic control panels and then have to play their games off to the side, I would use two interchangeable panels so you can look at the monitor straight on.

The complexity of the task just went from a square to a dodecahedron...
Peale, when you want to figure out the CP dimensions, use these formulae:

you can put away the abacus there's no need for it. that's what I wanted to do. I was looking for a simple cp that I could just throw on for next week.
-
Then Peale is your man. Quick and he knows his stuff.
-
And simple.

j/k !!!
