Title: OK, Capkit installed, next step(s) ?

I installed the capkit for my WG K4500 yesterday. The good thing is the monitor still powers up and works, but the picture has gotten a lot worse instead of better. I take it because it will need new adjustments.

Is there a general step-by-step how to do this ?

Worse in what kind of way?

Color?
Convergence?
Focus?
Sizing?

It is common to need to readjust some controls after doing a cap kit. Things like brightness and vertical size are found to have been cranked/played with before the kit was done in a vain attempt to make the monitor look better.

Yeah, I'll put up some pics this afternoon. Just a first thing: there was a new pot for adjusting the overall brightness included in the kit, because that would often fail acc. to the Zanen info. Adjusting the pot has no effect at all on the picture. I'm afraid there's more to repair to this monitor than just a capkit.

I had expected it to need some re-adjustment, but this seems pretty strange. The picture seems to be "twisted". Now I noticed (only when the monitor was on my desk) that the whole yoke and convergence PCB seem to be not entirely straight on the CRT neck. However, I'm absolutely positive that I did not move it during getting it out of the cab... I carefully tried re-adjusting it, but was afraid to break anything.

Also the colors are very wrong, much more than they were. The pics will be here later..

Well guys.....no need for this thread anymore...at least not for me...

I decided to replace the WG K4500. I don't have the time (and maybe not the skill) to get this one back into 100%. Also, the burn-in on the screen was pretty bad. I bought a used TV (pretty recent) a Nokia to replace this monitor. Will be driving it with RGB through the SCART connector so my Galaxian will have a new crisp picture soon.........
