Title: For those with N64 consoles,
Post by: SGT on January 14, 2007, 01:45:59 pm
I am apparently an idiot for being unable to figure out what button allows you to skip the dialog in games "banjo kazooie" and "rayman 2: the great escape".  :banghead:
I am assuming I am mapping my generic gamepad wrong because I cannot find a button to skip over the intro screens and dialog.  Can you tell me what button on the original N64 console controller allowed you to skip these intro screens?

I know this isn't the forum for it, but I didn't know where else to find this info and I have searched for a LONG time on the internet...

Thanks, SGT
PS.  I'm using Project64

Must not be the B-button because sometimes the dialog asks you to press B which I have mapped and am able to do.  Is it possibly a combination of buttons?

This link says Press  L-R-B for Banjo:

http://www.gamespot.com/n64/action/banjokazooie/hints.html

Is L and R two of the C-Buttons, Left and Right of D-Pad or Stick or is it the left trigger and right trigger?

Also do I press them simultaneously or sequentially? I must be doing something very stupid in my gamepad mapping to not be able to advance through the intro screens or dialog boxes. :hissy:

The left and right buttons are on the shoulders of the controller, buttons 7 and 8 as shown in the diagram below.

Thanks Banana.  I still cannot get past any dialog between characters in Banjo and Rayman 2 (haven't tried others) while using Project64.  In other words I have to wait until all the conversations are finished each time, no matter if I've already read them a thousand times.

All the other controls seem to work fine, I just cannot quickly advance through these conversations and quite frankly I'm ready to sling the controller through the wall. :banghead:  :hissy: :timebomb:

Thanks Banana,

I still have to wait whenever dialog or conversations between characters are finished. No amount of button pushing will keep me from having to wait an eternity while I read the same stuff a thousand times.

All other controls seem to work fine after the CONVERSATIONS finish (until the next dialog comes up) in Banjo and Rayman 2 (all that I've tried) using Project64.  Quite frankly, I'm ready to sling my controller through the wall. :badmood: :banghead: :hissy: :timebomb:

I think you have a bug in your PC
I had a bug that would make multi post from me once. turned out a virus on my PC

some one else on the buy/sell/trade is having the same problem

I have not played your games you mentioned. Is there not a setting in options in the game  for text speed?

Maybe, if it weren't for the fact that all 3 of those posts are actually different in some way or another.

Post count of 7... 3 of those the dupes in here...  Post count :spam: ?

Maybe its from the error this website was having the other day that made people think their post wasn't posted, but actually was.  If you look at the posts a few days ago, you'll see there were dozens of people who posted the same thing 2 or more times.

LOL, yeah, I thought that a 7 post count versus a 4 post count would keep me from being considered a noob. :laugh2:

Actually, at the time, when I would click to post , I was getting an error from the forum software that said something to the effect that the post would have to be resubmitted.  So because my memory sux, each post was slightly different.

When I saw what had happened, I could not figure out how to delete the extras.  See, forgetful and stupid. :dizzy:

Note to self:  only click post once, no matter what.

I wasn't accusing. Hence the ?.

I figured it was probably error, and given your actual posts so far figured you weren't just an annoying schmuck looking to spam the site with garbage.

That being said...

With the post count limit set for the buy/sell/trade board we do see people with low post counts posting spam just to make the minimum allowed to post there. It has nothing to do with trying to convince others you aren't a "noob". :P
