Title: Help please -tv display at 256, 16bit, or 32 bit?
Post by: blueboy on January 10, 2007, 09:09:59 pm
Using a Msi Ti4800se , tv out via component, looks like crap so far until a game starts, then looks ok, most windows text isn't even readable.

Thanks for the help, I need it...

changing the colour depth is not going to make any difference at all (just leave it set at 32 bit)

lower your resolution, 800 x 600 max on a tv or if you can stand it 640 x 480

I know what you mean.  I can actually see that that resolution.  But it's huge, especially for someone use to 1600x1200 on desktop.

Depends on the TV. I have my res even lower than 640x480, but I can use it fine as long as I don't need a lot or real estate. Good for loading up Zinc or stand alone gun games. Perfectly readable.

Windows on a Standard TV, will look blurry and hard to read text.   If you have an HDTV and set your TV out for HDTV Resolutions such as 720p or 1080i, text should be more readable.
