Going to build a replacement cab for the TMNT particle board a friend gave me. It currently holds a 25" arcade monitor that has absolutely no electronics or circuit card on it so I figure I'm getting a new display. The wife is thinking do an LCD monitor because of the weight and size savings but I'm just wondering if it will look too small in a cabinet built for a 25" monitor?
Thoughts? What about a 25" TV instead? Pros & cons of either?

do you know if the tube is bad? if you know somebody who has a 25" chassis you could check it out...
Unless you have a 27" tv with component inputs or svideo wasting space, you might want to consider getting a replacement 25" arcade monitor and an arcade VGA.
no point using an lcd in a cab that big/deep. and a 19" would look dwarfed in that cabinet.

I wouldn't do an LCD either. It's not worth spending the money on a 24" LCD or something like that, and a 19 or 20" will look very small in the cab. It also won't look very authentic if that is a concern of yours. games do look fine on an LCD though... just not "arcade perfect"
I'd second davieboy's suggestion and see if you can revive the tube unless you know its bad. You can find a 25" chassis fairly easily and inexpensively. Or you can splurge for a new (newish) 25" arcade monitor.
I don't like TVs in cabs, or for playing games in general. That's personal preference really, but I'm not a fan at all.
