Title: Upright Mame machine with dreamcast lightguns
Post by: canardo on January 08, 2007, 01:53:32 pm
Hi there

well here is my new project, only thing I am doing that might be of interest is I am going to keep the jamma wiring intact, utilse the original monitor, and install a dreamcast into the cabinet that is switchable between the dc and the pc into the original jamma harness

anyway heres some pictures of the cabinet the project is starting with, purchased a good quality cabinet to save time and appease the girlfriend more

Well I got two arrivals in the post today, my replacement ArcadeVGA, I have to say it really was great service that I received from Andy at www.ultimarc.com . The replacement is working absolutely brilliant and first impressions are anyone that doubted buying this card, just go ahead and buy it, the difference between playing on a PC SVGA monitor and a true arcade monitor is staggering.

Also received the two marquees I ordered from www.mamemarquees.com , Again great service and the marquees are everything I could have hoped for and will really help finish of the cabinet, when it is complete.

So got it running with my pc, the next steps are
to configure mamewah
wire in the buttons for 4-6 and the coin mechanism
mount everything securely inside the cabinet
make my rgb scart convertor and kick harnesses so that I can put in some consoles easily.

future things to do will probably be to replace the t moulding with some that is black or silver
change the control panel slightly and include a 4 way stick and a spinner much like the neon mame design over at arcadecontrols

Managed to knock out an 85k score on pacman at the first time of asking which is higher than I have managed on the xbox 360s controller :)
