Title: Finally got a Cab - Need Advise
Post by: ldl on January 06, 2007, 02:21:56 pm
This is my new baby!
Just in case the picture did not load, the cab I am refering to is The King of Dragons (Capcom) cab, with small control panel.
I would like to change the CP for something larger. If I bought a CP, could it be mounted with minimal cutting.
I also want to use 4/8 way joys that a 5 year old can use.
Would it be hard to use the existing mount for a 21" PC minitor. The original monitor was 25"
Any advise from the cab gurus would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Monitor mount: no.  the math is easy.  larger diagonal means taller and wider.

Panel: no experience in this, but I'd offhand say if you want to preserve the cab then you'll have to make a panel shelf that sticks out from the cab, and a piece that'll cover over the old panel or panel spot.  That should only take some drilling and inserting braces.  Otherwise, you'll have to pull the old panel off and cut that section off both sides of the cab.

But for the monitor you might be interested in this:
