Title: Mastushita manual degauss?

I have a Matsushita 202G. I want to retrofit it so I can use a push button to degauss the screen (I have a rotating monitor). Looking over the diagrams, it looks like if I put a push button across D808, to short it out, that should do the trick. Any comments. I attached the schematics and theory for the relavent section.
