Title: Need help identifying PCB parts
Post by: myka316 on January 04, 2007, 09:14:26 pm
Well I have this street fighter II pcb but I haven't the slightest clue as to what terminology is used/what the primary function for the part is.  So if anyone could be so kind as to help me identify these things it would be greatly appreciated.

Now,

I believe the connector on the middle right hand side is the Jamma connector, correct?

If you look in the lower left hand corner, you can see some pin connections just above the orange strips.  What would be the proper terminology for those and what is the function for each of the 4 pin connections?  Does the board need a connection from a power supply or is that handled elsewhere?

Thanks

You are correct on the large connector is the main JAMMA connector.
The JAMMA connector provides the power from the power supply to run the board.
I would advise that you get familiar with the JAMMA pinout.

The smaller "headers" with the smaller pins will need the extra wiring for the extra controls, buttons, etc.  From the looks of it, you will only need to wire up one of those 10 pin headers for the extra three buttons. (the JAMMA harness only has provisions for three, so you will need the "extra" three as well)

The manual should have all the info you need for those.
Not sure exactly which "version" of SFII you have, but this should get you started.
