I'm getting ready to make my controls purchase and was just looking at Happ's illuminated USB translucent trackball and noticed it costs $171.00. Are they kidding us. I have a non USB model I bought last year and I believe it was ~ $135.00. It is a nice trackball, but IMO it isn't even worth that. They're getting outrageously priced. :dunno. I guess the ICE-T is the way to go at 109.00. What thinks you?

'Ponyboy' or 'divemaster' from these boards sell Happ stuff at much better prices. Check the buy/sell forum or PM one of them and see.

Tornado Terry's carries the translucent trackballs, USB, for
$87.99 $82.99...and that INCLUDES the mounting plate! www.tornadoterrys.com
Ugly ass website... good prices... fast shipping. I ordered my trackball there, as well as my joysticks and buttons.
-
+1 for Tornado Terry's. Great service and fast shipping. MUCH Cheaper than Happ!
-
Thanks guys. I"ll go with TT. It just doesn't make sense though. Happ is charging more than double the price for their own product than a reseller is selling it for. ??? :dizzy:
-
Everybody who sells HAPP or uses them in their products sells them for less......
-
Yah...I am not sure how the dynamics work there...
HAPP must sell wholesale DIRT CHEAP or mark their retail stuff up BIGTIME.
-
I'm thinking both. HAPP seems to be a weird company.

When I got mine (3 in Blue Translucent) I got it from Coin Tech Texas on eBay. Check him out. $65 plus $8 Shipping.

Not Happ's 100 Billion for the item, plus $80 dollars shipping, plus 5 dollars for the mere fact that they are selling something to you (for real), plus more shipping because they do not have the item at a location near you so they pass the extra cost on to you and make you pay to get it from a different location on the other side of the globe. The final straw for me was when they said that they needed to charge me $5 more because they needed to put my bezel in a larger than normal size to ship it. I have sworn off Happs. I will buy their stuff but from someone a little more willing to sell the stuff at a near reasonable price. I bought my bezel from Arcadeshop instead.

+2... just bought two from him yesterday.

Most companies prefer to deal with vender's not the end consumer. They would rather sell boxes in bulk and let some one else deal with selling them to customers. You would not place an order for a box of cereal from Kellogg's directly would you?
-
True, but then again Kellogg's doesn't have a website that offers up cereal boxes as Happ does Trackballs. See the difference? ;)

+3...I have purchased two of them from TT (through ebay) in the past, excellent price and fast shipping.

Yeah, but if you didn't have ready access to a Happ reseller (and if you are here, then you do), then you would be bitching about Happ not selling direct, wouldn't you ?
You got burned because you didn't do your homework the first time around ... happens to most of us at some point.
Get over it and in the future buy from any one of (in no particular order) Ponyboy, divemaster, Tornado Terry, etc.
Cheers.

Ohhh $1.25 buttons... are those the competition ones? (ie 58-9613-L) If so I'll be submitting you my order early...
Now if I can only find someone to beat Happs price on the Tornado Spinner I would be golden.
-
The $1.25 are the concave buttons
thanks
