I realize I should probably be posting these questions in the AFE support forum, but I can't seem to get the admins over there to approve my registration - I've submitted it again.
Anyway, I spent some time this weekend getting AFE up and running and I have a question about how it sets the GPW49. From what I can tell, AFE uses the game list xml from mame to determine what joystick mode each game should use. So I checked the control.gpwiz file (generated by AFE) and it seems like almost every game is set to mode 3 (8-way). I specifically checked some games that use a 4-way or 2-way joystick and they are all configured for 8-way by AFE. Is this a bug, or could I be doing something wrong with the AFE setup?

I just tested this myself: it does look like a bug. Both the Happ and Williams generated modes setup almost everything as 8 way. I'll shoot Youki a note to check on this...

Hi,
On what version of mame did you test?
That's very strange, i can not reproduce. For my test, i use a mame 0.104 . May be they change something in recent XML file for mame.
Try to use an older version to generate the file. (even if it is not the version you use to run your games)
Let me know.

I used 111 - I'll try an older version and see...
<Edit> Yup - 106 is the last version where it works properly...
Arzoo - attached is the 106 version, Youki may have to correct me, but I believe you can just copy this to your Atomic installation directory, and you should be all set. Just remove the .txt extension.
This will at least get you going until Youki can check it out...

Thanks for the test Havok.
Yes, if you simply copy the file and remove the .txt , it should work.
I will check to see what changed in new mames.
Thanks

Thanks Havok! Funny thing is, I'm running version 103, but I also have 111 installed and that's the exe I must have used to generate the xml list.
