Hello all. I am ready to take my layout to the local Fedex kinkos to get it printed, but would you believe they don't have the capability to use Visio files? I have Google for hours and I have installed multiple programs that purport to be able to do it, but none of them do it well. They either cut part of the document off or span it across a bunch of pages even when I indicated the correct page size. Anyone know of a good - free - converter from Visio to PDF? I have already converted it to JPEG (Visio allows this) but Kinkos WILL ONLY print from PDF. In fact, if you bring them a document not in PDF, they charge to convert it! I couldn't believe it myself when I they told me that. Anyway, I would appreciate any help.
Cheers

what programs have you used? most of the time when i want to save something as a pdf i just do a google search for a pdf printer. and print the file to a pdf.

Go to a different Kinkos or talk to a different person at the same Kinkos.
The person who told you that is wrong.

If you are just making an overlay to cut the holes, print it on a normal sheet of paper and have them blow it up. Worked fine here. Sorry I can't help with a visio to pdf converter.

I called 3 DIFFERENT Kinko's and got the same line of BS. I Googled and found several applications but they don't seem to do the job right. I finally was able to do it by saving from Visio to a JPEG and then converting the JPEG to a PDF. I hate doing that step, but it seems to be the only way to make it work. I appreciate all of the fast responses. Thanks again all. Have a great day.
Cheers.

Well I took it to FEDEX Kinko's and although converting the file was a pita today, getting it printed took about 5 minutes and cost me exactly 4.53 for 2 copies! Now I can get rolling on the CP. I know I could have just printed it out and taped it together on my standard printer, but this is so much better and for about 2.25 a piece, it was well worth it! Below is a pic of the final product. Cheers.

A little to late for original poster - but you can download a free program called pdf995(google it for URL) and it will create a pdf printer - you just "print" to it from any app, and it will create a PDF rather than a piece of paper.

Thanks Kid. I appreciate it. I will download it anyway for future use....and the next CP! :)
