Title: D9400/D9500 hfreq limitations
Post by: Dave Dribin on December 29, 2006, 11:00:01 am
Hello,

The D9200 had horizontal frequency limitiations, i.e. it would only support 15.75kHz, 25kHz, and 31.5kHz, not the entire range between 15.75 - 31.5kHz, like the spec sheet says.  Does anyone if the D9400 and D9500 have similar limitations, or if they can use any horizontal frequency within range?

Thanks,

-Dave

I'd say the best way to get the correct answer would be straight from the horse's mouth: Wells-Gardner tech support.

Agreed.  I was just curious if someone else had already done that.  I'll contact them after the new year, and post what I find out.

I'm just getting my info from Des Jones' D9200 FAQ (http://easymamecab.mameworld.net/html/d9200.htm).  He's got a scan (http://easymamecab.mameworld.net/files/d9200.jpg) of a rather official looking Wells-Gardner document that states:

Quote
This monitor is capable of operatin in (3) differenent scan frequencies CGA(15.75kHz), EGA(24.8kHz) and VGA with a +/- 1kHz tolerance, by simply selecting a video input and changing the cable position.

The WG site says nothing about any this, though.
