Title: Question installing simulation guns onto PC Cabinet Machines
Post by: danph1 on December 24, 2006, 02:53:38 pm
Does anyone have experience installing simulation guns onto a PC cabinet machine.  I have a Terminator 2 game and some others.

Thanks,

Dan

i dont have any experience with this (i would like some but i dont) but it seems to me that you would have to sync the gun barrel with the target on screen.

basically the gun controls the movement of the joystick so you would need to use the crosshairs in game to let you line up the guns.  it will be trial and error i suppose.

good luck.

can you post a pic of the guns if you have them?  im thinking of using a toy gun as a base for making my own.

The guns like that are actually a big analog joystick.
The hack for them is the same as a Star Wars yoke.

You can either hack them into an analog gaming device (like the Dual-Strike), or use an analog interface (like the A-pac or AKI).

My arcade website I hacked together has some Dual Strike wiring pictures for you if you decide to go that route.

.... look into the rotating cabinet section
