Thanks guys appreciate the support.

Mission Control, the second analogy of myself for the past few days that I forgot to mention was indeed CORNHOLIO!! In case you never seen the seinfeld episode. Ask my kids man, I was on a rampage!

Melissa just goes steady man...All natural there. I need a motivator myself. No caffeine today=nothing getting done. Well nothing productive that is.

I think I need some beers! Wonder how my posts and wife's website would look then!?

Caffeine!?! You wildman! Everyone knows it's the path to more dangerous things! Next you'll be involved in totally out of control behavior like leaving the toilet seat up, riding your bicycle against traffic, and ripping DO NOT REMOVE tags off mattresses!

Get back on the straight and narrow before its too late!

 ;)

EDIT: My post makes no sense because the original poster deleted the comments I replied to.

Tok are you mocking the dangers of DRUGS? Caffeine is a DRUG you know, albeit not as dangerous as say NICOTINE! mccoy...

More Cowbell, would you care to chime in this please?

Breaking news: DK is back on the caffeine but in MUCH smaller doses. On the way to the fridge I was able to get a shot of Melissa's progress on the mccoy project. Guess today wasn't a complete waste for me after all!

Very sharp.  I think the website's fine.  Big letters are good in this instance, especially with that type and transparency of font.  The little drum core music, though I'm not into it, is an attention-getter, too.  As for your behaviour, lately, I didn't think you were wiggin.  Little high-strung.  But, see, now you gave us something to distract us - pictures of your wi-....um wife's carvings.  (kee kee kee.)

Thanks for the feedback Tranq...Really appreciate it! Well it might not have completely shown but to be honest I was wiggin. You see I'm naturally very high strung and if you couple that with LARGE doses of caffeine...You seriously get MADNESS!

Thanks for the tips on the website. I was wondeing if the mp3 background was a little too over the top, but I like listening to them myself. It gets me in the spirit of the project more.  :dunno

Unfortunately I didn't participate in sports as much as I would have liked to in High School. Damn my senior class won STATE in B-ball too. It was all my buddies I grew up with shooting hoops with in the backyard. I went to a small Community College and the sports program there was less than cool.

Ben your cab and dedication to your school is one of the greatest things I have ever seen. The Football theme is a great idea. It is very original and most appropriate. Last time I checked there were about 400 football games that could be played on that machine. I drove through your state in March on my way to NC. If I head back that way...I want to play your cab and if you could take me to a BUCKS GAME!!

No, but Kramer when off at some black folks at a comedy club a while back.  But I don't you were as bad as that incident.
Title: Re: I have an apology to make...
Post by: Donkey_Kong on December 24, 2006, 11:38:20 am
Yea the Kramer episode with the Free Coffee was hilarious. His outburst at the comedy club wasn't. His public appologies afterwards were kind of funny.

Seriously though, go ahead and laugh but you CAN get seriously nuts on caffeine if you do it right. I have one of those water coolers that heats water too. Pour hot water and mix strong brews of good instant cofee(Tasters Choice), mix in a little instant cappacinno as a mix for really good flavor, plus extra caffeine. Wash all of that down with your favorite soda in my case any diet cola. Finish. Repeat. Finish. Repeat. The result is near lethal doses man...be careful!!

Dude!! You got nothing to apologise for.... If we were all stable sane individuals we wouldn't be on this forum in the first place.  It takes a special kind of lunacy to build arcade cabinets and believe me when I say we can all be erratic grouchy B&*^%$^ on here sometimes. Me especially...  :-\ ;D

I've told you before that your other half is a very tallented lady, the web site looks great! can't wait for you to start knocking out the resin replicas of those fabulous wood carvings. I'm in for a full "Donkey Kong" and "PacMan" set when you do.

Best Regards,

Tranq, I will NEVER know how my wife does what she does. The BIGGEST mystery is how she puts up with me!

Julian, Thanks for mentioning it. I don't envy your molding and casting project on the tron sticks. Yours is a different baby than ours and there were some bumps in the road for us. Learning curve wasn't all bad for Melissa's stuff. The results of the castings, as of right now are Stunning. Don't tell Melissa but the castings are just as amazing as her originals.

Have you every considered doing some old skool signs? I have been trying to get a penny arcade sign. Something more substantial then carboard for my gameroom. I was looking for the look and feel of the old mechanical arcade games.

Hypernova and Tranq & everybody else. Thanks guys!!  Melissa appreciates the compliments as well. Even though she spends about 1/100th of the time at byoac as me, she sneaks on now and then to check it out.

amerish- I believe melissa could carve anything that you could throw at her right now. She is going to do a sign for Mitch G with this font type...

Appreciate that Markvp! She is sitting behind me laying out like ten new carvings as I type. (local time 11:08pm) She is really starting to get booked up here. She really puts her time into all of them and serious dedication to perfection from start to finish. Not to mention it is dirty job with serious manual labor involved, but she seems to like it. I asked an admin to move this post to BST. It would fit better there also. Be sure to stop by over and stay tuned to her current projects. I try to follow her with the camera as much as possible.
Thanks all!!

Hey yea, oh don't forget to plug the website in the article too huh?...She'll probably FINALLY be done with your stuff by then and me & the kids will surely be looking for her to put some more food on the table with her carvings. Maybe even anough to turn up the heat a little too.

Mike- we seen these on a tv commercial and were immediately intrigued...but just for awhile. We don't believe it could achieve the fine detail she is pulling by hand. She also applies pretty deep undercuts to achieve a maximum 3-D effect and here miniscule detail... :o

Two things here...

1. An engraving machine ran from a computer would completely strip ALL personality from these projects and ultimately make this WHOLE thing 'null and void' in our opinion.

2. I personally put her work and detail up against ANY MACHINE! Carving Machines Beware! not to mention her paint skills...damn  :o

Now Donkey Kong is hanging around. :P

Thanks guys! We REALLY appreciate the nice words!! You know worse things have happened to better people and we aren't looking to be the byoac sob story.

Instead of being a sob story how about a success story?  I am going to bet that some of the long lasting vendors here are making a little money selling or re-selling stuff here.

Good luck on the future and keep up the excellent woodwork.

I'll be moving to Phoenix in June... and once there I'll be setting up a gameroom.  I think I'm going to have to hit you up for some carvings at that point!  :)  Your stuff looks amazing!!

Just curious if the Gameroom magazine feature helped you all out with sales.

Thanks guys! The problem was is we had a rush of orders coupled with some major 'real life' events and Melissa got way behind. She is working 10-12 hours a day now carving and painting. We are hoping to start taking new orders again really, really soon.

The GameRoom article sparked alot of interest and resulted in some new orders. So much so that we immediately started an ad campaign with them. 1/2 page per month.

We also have some awesome new casts to offer that I will have pics of soon. Q-bert & snake. Also a Robotron grunt. Will post pics ASAP.

Thanks again for the interest guys!!

Title: Re: -VENDOR- Pine Princess Carvings: BYOAC Member 55% OFF the 32 piece mega set
Post by: Donkey_Kong on August 22, 2007, 01:08:08 pm
Ok, I redid the math and realized that the MEGA 32 piece set we are offering for a limited time comes to 55% OFF, from if you were to buy them one at a time.

I realize this is a lot of $$ to dish out, I understand that. If you think we over charge on this stuff consider this, it takes Melissa about 70 hours to paint the mega set. So she would make about $10/hour? Well you still have to subtract for material cost, paint and shipping. This puts her at about $7/hour on this set.

Not bad considering you would be getting 32 pieces of some of the finest arcade art available right now. Of course I may have a partial opinion on that.  ;D

Yes, this 32 piece set is $725.00 shipped. For a limited time. Get yours today!!
