Title: Vertical games on Arcadevga interlaced.
Post by: vocalninja on December 20, 2006, 06:38:32 pm
I've been playing around with dodonpachi on a rgb monitor. the game starts in vertical orientation (which is what i want) but its an interlaced image. Is there a way to get games like these to display vertically AND have progressive scan at their correct resolution on an arcade monitor.

I'm using mame32 and an arcadevga. Any help regarding mame and vertical shooters would be much appreciated.

I've spent a fair amount of time in the mame32 ini file but no luck.

Yes.  I have a vertical astro city cab and I used Minwah's MAME resolution tool along with arcadeVGA.  Get it here:

http://mamewah.mameworld.net/downloads.htm

This generates the correct INIs for each game, although you may have to remove some resolutions that aren't supported by your monitor.

You can use AVRES tool from Ultimarc too.

You can find a version on ultimarc's web site.  Or take that one :
