Title: "double view" problem
Post by: ipaqlinux48 on December 18, 2006, 03:53:12 pm
Hi,

I've a problem with my 27" Hantarex Polo Start + Arcade VGA. Sometimes, when my PC boots up, the monitor displays two desktops. I've taken a picture.

When I switch to another resolution (using quickres), or turning off the power of the monitor and turning it back on, the screen restores back to its normal view.

Is this a problem with the Arcade VGA card or is it a problem with the Hantarex?

Thanks in advance.

If you are using a JPAC,  there is a set of jumpers indicating 15k, 25k, 31k...I think it comes stock with 2...one on 15 and the other at 31...take the one off the 31 (or is it 30) and only have the 15khz set.

yes a frequency issue,is it a polo1,2 (auto freq or switchable)or polostar monitor?

Yup... that looks like a 31khz (vga/ windows) frequency going into a 15khz (cga/arcade) monitor.

It's a 27" Hantarex Polostar autoswitch monitor. Acoording the specs, the monitor switches automatically between 15-25-31 KHz. But sometimes it goes wrong. So is there any way to restore the screen?

NB I've read somewhere on this forum to avoid the auto-switch capabilities of the hantarex polostar monitor because it can damage the monitor? Is this true, because my monitor is constant switching from 15 to 31 KHz.

the polostar has a switching board in the psu circuit(that stands upright),on that there are some transistors that do the freq switching if one of those is faulty then you will have problems with your monitor switching frequencies-it sounds like your problem
