Hello.
I'm looking for some options for the marquee holder on my cab.
I bought some plastic designed for that awhile back. Now that I'm about to install it, i've been having some second thoughts.
It looks like some of the plastic is really going to obscure some of the light coming though to light up the marquee from behind. In otherwords the holder itself seems a little wide. The cab is only 3/4 inch but the holder is like 1.5 inches. Yes, I know that i can just trim it, but I was wondering if someone may have a better soloution.
thanks in advance.

I bought some wall corner protecting strips from the paint section at Ace Hardware. They are semi flexible plastic, translucent, and 8 feet long. They were $3.00 per 8 foot section. They cut easy with a knife, and I think they were 3/4". They basically go vertically along the length of a wall to prevent damage to the wall by knicking it with something. They are often in dental or medical offices.
They worked out pretty well. I tacked them in with finish nails.

Hey Derv!
Great idea. I'll look into that!
Thanks!

I bought Oak 3/4" corner trim and I painted them black.
Recently, in home depot, I found 3/4" aluminum L brackets - I wish I used those instead.

Picture frame from Wal Mart...$8.99...
Got 4 pieces out of it...2 24" and 2 48"...

picture frame from walmart -that's inventive!
How does that work? I take it that you take it apart and then just tack it up to the surface that you're using?
It holds the marquee without it slipping out the bottom?
thanks.

My cabinet has a groove for the top and the sides prevent it from sliding either way. I just bought one of the Aluminum frames that are more like a U than an L and just bent it in to an L shape.
I lied...I think it was more like $10.99 though. I have 3 more pieces I can use. I just drilled 4 holes and screwed it up in to the bottom of the marquee portion of the cabinet.

great ideas guys!
I really like the aluminum bracket/picture frame/corner protector ideas. This seems like the cheapest and most effective way to go!
Thanks
