I would like to play Guitar Hero 1 & 2 on my PS3. I assume both of these PS2 games will work on the PS3, right? Is there anyway to adapt the guitar controllers to USB so they will connect to the PS3?
-
I read online that it won't work because a PS2 controller used with a USB adapter must be forced into analog mode to work on a PS3 and the guitar doesn't hae an analog mode. The game won't even start until you set the analog mode. Attempts to switch out controllers didn't work.
That's why I'll be getting Guitar Hero for the XBox 360 when it comes out in a few months.

Sony really needs to patch that.

Well I already have GH1 for PS2. I don't have a PS3 but I do have an XBox 360. So there's less incentive for me to get GH on a PS3 as a port when I can just play it natively on the 360. I just wish it had next-gen graphics to go with it.

Agreed. I've never played either, but have a PS3 and would be interested in picking one up to kill the time waiting for more PS3 releases :)

I saw an adaptor for ps2 to ps3 in a gamestop circular.

Or if you look up IGN for upcoming games for the PS3, you'll see Guitar Hero 3 is coming out this year. Most likely with new graphics and a new controller.

That would be totally awesome. It'll be the last thing keeping me from actually buying a PS3.
