I just picked up a megatouch (original cga series) that has no neck glow. I want to do a cap kit, but I don't know where to get one. The info on these chassis seems to be hard to locate. I managed to get a schematic from Merit, which I'll post here, and hopefully someone can help me out.

I forgot to add that there was a service bulletin released for these monitors by Merit which is available at http://www.meritind.com/Service%20Center/Bulletins/PDF/csbull05.pdf

On the back of the neckboard is a paper label with a Merit "type number". What does it say?
I have written a repair guide to some of those Eygo/Wei-ya/Huai monitors which includes a list of capacitors I have found to be bad on these monitors.

Type 6
More specifically, UCS-13CS-26SR is the model number on the chassis.
The schematic I posted was used for type 2 and type 6 I was told.

I have some repair info and cap listing. If you want it, shoot me an email.

E-mail sent. Thanks!

I also have one of these monitors, except slightly different. It is model UCS-13CS-22SR. It is comletely dead. Any help would be great.

Zanen does make a cap kit for type 2, 4, 6, 7 Eygo Merit Chassis, for someone's future information. Mouser carries the resistors that Merit recommends you swap out in their service bulletin.

I have a guide for that model. Shoot me an email if you want it.

Monitor guide has been emailed. :)

Ken,
Maybe you should send that info to Zanen or Bob Roberts and see if they will put together a kit for people who need Cap Kits for the Eygos.

According to johnnya, Zanen already has a capkit for these.

Yep. It is one of their premade sets, although it's not on their list of sets that they send with their orders. It is printed on the bag that it is for merit eygo type 2, 4, 6, or 7.

I wish Zanen would get a website or at the very least someone should have a site that lists ALL the latest Zanen kits. Not just the listing they pack with an order cause it never shows all the kits.

Indeed, Zanen needs a website :) However, I DID find an e-mail adress that they have AND reply too:
ZanenElectronics@aol.com
They even accept PayPal payments and ship international.
Ken, do you have any more info about a Wells Gardner K4500. The schematics are all over the web, but a real service manual would be very nice. Thanks and sorry for hi-jacking a bit here....
-
Sorry, but I don't think we even had any 4500 series monitors in any of our games. I've never seen any kind of manual for it.

Wow ok, so it's pretty old and/or rare I guess :D Thanks anyway Ken.

Ken, thanks for your help. After finishing my first cap kit and replacing those 2 resistors, it seems I have my first success. A Megatouch I bought for $25 with a dead monitor now has an excellent looking monitor, and it's actually a Megatouch III. So for about $45, I have a new Megatouch. Thanks!

When retired from the coin-op route, those Megatouches make excellent home games. Especially good for parties and family getogethers.
