I notice when I turn my 17" Dell PC monitor on its side, the color fades to a uniform rose color. Anyone know why it would do this?

I'm not sure this is it, cos as I turn the monitor, it gradually changes color/hue, respective to the degree of turn - and gradually turns back, vice-versa. Also, I can hear something move inside when I turn it.

Trust him, it's the degauss. The magnetic field gets all out of whack when you turn the monitor on it's side. If it's a Dell monitor it probably has a degauss function you can access from the monitor menu - give it a try a few times before you look into other stuff.
As for hearing something move when you rotate it, that may be something to investigate further.

I apologise. Many times when reading posts I think to others, 'why not just try it'. I just thought, 'hey, I should listen to myself'. And so I did, and you, and he, are right. Of course, if I'd been more curious, I would've tried this before asking. Alas. Regardless, thank you.
