Title: The punisher extended cut
Post by: rlemmon on December 12, 2006, 12:22:30 pm
I picked this up at walmart last week. I had a chance to watch it thismoarning and I really liked it. The extra 17 minutes added alot and made for a better overall story line.

I would say its better than the theatrical cut.  I usually don't like unrated or extended cuts but if it actually adds something worthwhile to the movie I'm all for it. I liked this and the directors cut of robocop you get with the robocop trilogy set . Both very cool :o

This is the newer version of the Punisher, not the one with Dolph, right?

Didn't the director's cut of Robocop only add like ten seconds of footage.  I have the Criterion release.  Did they add in more stuff?

yes its the newer one. As for robocop I believe its the same transfer. Theres the extended death scene were ed 209 blows the guy to bits in the ocp board room and the blood shooting from the neck of Clarence. The Alex death scene is also different. Not a botload of new footage but what there is adds allot.  you should check out the unrated cut that comes with the robocop trilogy set it has some very nice extras.

Thats good that the extended cut improves the movie since the original version was so bad.  I've heard the extended version of DareDevil actually makes that movie good too.

No, I'm serious.  I haven't seen it myself and I wouldn't expect it to be a great movie, but its supposed to be a lot better.

Did they simply remove all the scenes with Ben Affleck?  That might make it better.... 8)

the Directors cut of DareDevil does make it good.  I hated the Theater version but the extended cut is great if they would have only cut the part with Ben and man hands fought in the park.

He's made an entire career over chicks digging him in Chasing Amy.
