Just bought an Insignia 27' tv to use as a monitor with a Radeon X550. I was trying to get Svideo to work and the card wouldn't even detect my display. Also I was going to buy a Dongle for the card anyway, DVI to Comp, or VGA to Comp, Does anyone know if DVI to Comp will work with the X550? And how do I get SVideo to work with the X550?
Thanks

If the x550 uses the ATI catalyst program there is a setting to force the TV output if not detected. Under display options select force TV detection. Not sure if the svid is shared with one of the display outs on your card. Depending on manufacturer you should check if you use TV out which of the other connectors cannot be used. It is a dual monitor card so you will have to make some choices. The DVI to comp dongle works well but you should already have a vga out.

I appreciate the info, Last night I updated the drivers and Catalyst program and rebooted the Svid came through Great!...I have to say that after looking at composite for years Svideo is way better, My goal now is to get DVI to Comp dongle and get an even better picture. From What you said before I am to believe that the Dongle will work with the X550?

I think the dvi to vga dongle will work with any dual port ati card. I use one on an older 9550 and it works fine.
