Just wondering if anyone else has noticed a thin border down one side of the game area when playing vertical games? (noticeable in DoDonPachi to be particular)
I'm using a 60cm TV, MAME v110, and a NVidia GeForce 7600GS using component output, constantly 720 x 576 @ 60Hz.
It's no big deal I guess, just annoying. It seams to be *just* outside the game area - so a screenshot won't pick it up. Here's my crude attemp at photography... This is the DoDonPachi copyright screen.

Does anyone know what's causing this line? It's not my TV ghosting obviously, because as seen in the photos it's happening even when black. Is it MAME?

I believe this is a normal effect, but I'm not sure exactly what causes it.
You could download Mr Do's Bezels (http://www.mameworld.net/mrdo/mame_artwork.html) which should help cover it up.

l had the same issue and the problem was, l use direct3d in mame and l was using version 9 but now have switched to verson 8 and the problem has gone. its an option in your mame.ini to configure. if you use mame32 its under - default game options ,- display. But like l said l use direct3d cos of my monitor and graphics card.

Ahhhh, thank you very much. I did recently change my mame ini from 'auto' to '9' for the d3d version (hoping to utilise my graphics card better). I'll change it to '8'.
headkaze - I found that link very interesting, I have been looking for a good artwork resource actually, thanks :)
Thanks for the replies and suggestions
