Title: Crusin' Exotica
Post by: Generic Eric on March 29, 2003, 04:35:31 am
Ever play it?

What do you think of are the chances of someone being able to make a DIY dashboard?

The speedometer and the Tachometer are represented by LEDS.

Yes, I know I am thinking WAY ahead.

Just a thought, but why not pull an actual dashboard out of a wrecked car?  The driver's part is usually 1 piece with plexi over the gauges.   Then you could install whatever you wanted to be displayed.

Getting them wouldn't be the hard part.  Filling them with data would be.

Why not create a bezel that fits over the screen?  Might be easier and look better.  but it would only work for one game...

I didn't ask it directly, but I was curious of the interface to the pc, and its response to/from the program... as noted in the orignal post, i was thinking ahead.

thanks for your input.

I dunno... hack the driver to output the tach data to the parallel port?
