Title: MAME Mouse Help
Post by: FrizzleFried on December 05, 2006, 12:34:47 am
While in windows and in mamewah my spinner works perfectly...in mame it see's my MOUSE as my mouse device and does not see my spinner.   I can get the spinner to work by disabling the mouse driver...

Is there a way to tell MAME to use my spinners driver instead of the mouse one?

If you have Both connected (Mouse and spinner -with a hack mouse, I suppose), you must press TAB and remap the lightgun, dial, wahtever device you want. If you installed first the mouse, this will be the mouse 0. The Spinner will be then Mouse 1.

That would suck to have to remap every game.  Any way to make the spinner mouse 0 by default?   I am using a Turbo Twist that has a USB connection.

If you don't mind not using the mouse for spinner games (which it sounds like you're asking for in the above question), just make mame's default dial mouse 2 (or whatever mouse # your spinner is); remap once and you're done:

Start mame, tab, input general, player 1, dial analog, enter, spin spinner.

Now mame is using the spinner for all dial player 1 inputs.  (As long as you don't remap specific game's dial player 1.)  Plus trackball and lightgun games are still mouse controlled.

Ah HA!  I am NOT a dumbass!

Well...that has yet to be determined.

I am told to access the ANALOG settings I am to hit TAB then go through the list to ANALOG SETTINGS (or something similar)...

...well...I am using v.108 and when I hit TAB I get the volume controls,  the screen position and size controls,  but no analog controls.   What am I doing wrong and/or what do I need to configure in mame.ini?

Thanks!

EDIT: Menu Found...dumbass status reaffirmed.
