Title: all roms are in.zip but i need to get each .smc file any ideas how?

I have problem all of my roms are for example sonic.zip then inside that .zip is sonic.smc . I need to get every .smc file out of there .zip folder but i'm not about to go into each folder one by one pull it out and put it in a folder. There are over 1,000 roms i need help. I thought i'd go to the find files program in xp and search for every *.smc file but for some reason it will not look into a zip folder? i tried to extract the .zip but all it did was move the .zip to the extracted location but did not pull out the .smc it was still a .zip. please any ideas would be great!  

ps....... i'm pulling out every  .smc for zsnesw it seems to not take a .zip in command line

Well ZSNESW should take .zips - I use zipped ROMS for ZSNES and they work fine.  Are you using short filenames?

There is actually a program to extract loads of zips in a batch, i think its called Zipmany not sure if its freeware or not though.

fwiw, the functionality is built right into XP... damned if I remember how to do it though...

(Although, not sure why you'd need to unzip them in the first place as per what minwah said...)

Use winace.  After winace is installed, higlight all the zips, right click them, and press "extract selected files".  It's very easy.  Winace is a great program, and you can get a free trial version.

Sometimes you guys crack me up, I thought everyone knew this one. :)  Download winrar.  Now select all the zip files in windows explorer and right click while holding down ctrl and select "extract here"

I said the same thing... but said use winace.  They both work for it.

I don't think you're the only one who didn't see the post  ::) , everybody else is talking about programs, inventing programs, etc.  ;D

Well, personally I doubt tyweed legally owns thousands of sms roms anyway.  Pirating console roms is kinda lame imho as most people can actually afford the real deal.

Yeah, although not   all  (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3015215637&category=21177) console games are affordable  ;) .  I kind of feel the same way as you, but at least he's not pirating games for new systems(like all the people downloading DC games   >:(  )
