Title: To Interlace or to not (ArcadeVGARes)
Post by: lettuce on December 03, 2006, 02:42:28 pm
Im using a TV for my cab, and am not sure about a couple of options when using the Ultimarc ArcadeVGARes tool. Mainly should i have the:

'Stretch Interlaced' box ticked or not,
'60hz only' ticked or not
'Closest X, Y' or 'Proportional' ticked in the Algorithm box,

As i have noticed a few games, mainly Vertical shoot em ups, seem to have the top and bottom parts of the screen cut off. I though if you used the ArcadeVGA card with a TV set is was surpossed to transform the TV in an arcade monitor?? Will any of these options get the vertical games to fit on screen??

I set up a TV with a VGA to SCART cable and as there's no image hight adjustment on the TV the top and bottom are cut on some resolutions when running vert games on a horiz monitor. It's the same on an arcade monitor too but you can adjust the screen easily. Changing the resolutions so the games fit results in lost lines etc and looks nasty.
If anyone else knows better (usually the case ;D) please put me right.

Would of been nice if the, Ultimarc ArcadeVGARes tool or the other res tool thats about, had an option that you could tick that gives u alternative resolutions for all the vertical games so they would be displayed correctly on standard monitors/tvs
