A friend of mine gave me his old TV a 65 inch projection TV because it wasn't compatible with the new HD Satellite Dish he ordered. It is HD compatible, it's just not compatible with the latest dish.
On my 27 inch TV the reception from the rabbit ears was bad, but viewable. The projection TV is interfering with the reception, plus the size of TV makes the fuzzy picture unviewable.
I don't need cable because if I feel like watching a movie I'll rent one and I watch regular TV less than two hours a week.
I want to know what's a good antenna to get? Preferable HD.
I got the TV for free, so I don't mind buying a good antenna.

I was thinking about getting one last year. The model I was looking at is no longer made, but this seems to be a worthy successor.

I used to have the earlier version of that antenna, and it does an admiral job of receiving OTA HD broadcasts. Bear in mind however that HD broadcasts are VERY VERY directional and the antenna may need to be adjusted for different channels.

There's also a section at the AVS forum dedicated to receiving local HD channels.

The AVS forums used to be a lot better... now there's so much noise in there that it's hard to parse out the useful info. Too many members.

Dammit chad, stop making sense, I have to agree with you again. I've been an AVS member since '99 (i think) and the last couple of years its become really difficult to find any useful info.
