Title: vertical games on horizontal screen question
Post by: philby85 on November 27, 2006, 08:30:56 pm
Sorry if this has been asked before or is an easy one. I am running mame32 .99 I have a horizontal 19" lcd in my cab. When I run some vertical games they are aligned in the centre of the screen. Some, for example Galaga run to the left of centre. Is there an option to centre it?

cheers

Aw shucks thanks Loadman!

Well, first off I was using the univert bezel, which worked well but still galaga and others would be off centre. Using mala as a front end as well. even just using mame a few would be off centre. Anyway to cut a long story short, in mala  i turned of the switch resolution check box and all ok. I am not using the univert bezel anymore either.

Yeah switch resolution never sat quite well with me as something that would be good for a cab application...

I may be wrong, but I figure that once you get your resolution and such coordinated and confirmed working on your cab, you wouldn't want to deal with hazards that come with constantly changing resolutions, especially if you're using something like a TV that probably doesn't support many of the games natural resolutions...
