Title: Control Panel overlay - what they made of?
Post by: Bobbler on November 25, 2006, 07:06:14 pm
Can anyone tell me what the control panel overlays are made of? I have just removed the rather nasty one from the cab I just bought and trying to find a replacement.
Looking at Mamemarquees they have control panels listed as being made of "Polycarbinate laminate" which I always thought was similar to Lexan sheet, which is not what I am looking for.
Basically after the big stick on sheet with adhesive backing and made from "thick, textured vinyl" ?

It's my understanding that the MameMarquees polycarbinate laminate is something similar to what real CPs are made out of. I know it's not like lexan , since it can still be rolled up. It might be shiny though. Just email them with any questions, they're very helpfull whenever I order from them.

Thats just what I was after.
The description threw me for a minute there, I thought it was like a hard plastic sheeting and not flexible.
Thanks bud

Lexan is a name brand polycarbonate resin and is available in thicknesses thinner (thinnesses?) than what most of us think of as Lexan.

And, yes, lots of CPOs are use polycarbonate (vinyl typically lacks the rigidity of polycarbonate laminate).
