Title: I'm having a weird issue with mamewah and project64. Advice needed.
Post by: mccoy178 on November 23, 2006, 12:19:00 am
I am currently setting up my cousin in laws computer again after it crashed.  I have got all the emulators working (ePSXe, zsnes, fceu, and gba, for example), including powermame.  I cannot get project64 (Nintendo 64 emulator) working within mamewah.  I need problem solving advice.  I have the following done:

I copied my entire project64 folder from my cabinet and mamewah 1.62 config file over.  I have project64 running fine on its own, but it will not start within mamewah.  I have double, triple, and quadruple checked the paths, as the previews, screenshots, and boxscans are working.  I know there are problems with {nodosbox}{safelaunch} settings, but I researched and that is what is suggested and that is what is working on my cabinet.  I have regenerated the game lists everytime, and I'm stumped.

Could this be the problem:

I copied the project64wrapper straight from my cabinet onto the new computer.  I believe that has to be the problem.  I checked the wrapper cfg. file and the two paths are correct.  Does it have to be downloaded fresh or something?  I'm lost as to what to try.  I can't find that wrapper on the internets and I'm not sure what else to try.  Any suggestions? :banghead:

I don't think you need a wrapper for Project 64 (although I'm not a MameWah user). But there is an option in Project 64 you may have to set. Go into settings->Options tab and make sure there is a tick next to "On loading a ROM go to full screen".

I'll give that a shot.  Thanks! :cheers:

I already had that checked.  I'm stumped.  I have the exact same setup in my cabinet and it works fine.  I've checked and checked and checked and I don't see one thing that is different between the two. :banghead:

First off, Project 64. I believe it has an install rountine and needs to be downloaded and the "Installed". I am not sure what goes on behind the scenes with registry entries and what not.

Next, the Wrapper. Are you using mine? If so I can get you another copy if you email me. Do you have the .Net framework installed? Why do you need the wrapper?

Lastly, I have seen different systems require different MameWAH settings for {dosbox}/{nodosbox} and/or {safelaunch}/{nosafelaunch}

Good Luck,
John

Thanks for the reply John,
1. I did a fresh download and install and P64 does work fine on its own.
2. I don't know why I am using the wrapper.  All I know is that it is working on my cabinet with it.  Why fix it if it ain't broke?(Nice in theory anyways)
3.  I have exhausted all scenarios.  I don't know what else to do, as this isn't my first rodeo.  I can't think of a single thing that would keep it from working in mamewah.

Thanks again fellas and have a good thanksgiving! :cheers:
