A friend of mine who knows how poor I am decided to cheer me up by buying me tickets to see Howie Mandel's standup comedy act at a local casino this past Sunday. Boy did that lift my spirits! He sure is funny and I had a great time. If he ever plays in your area, he is well worth seeing.

Sweet. I love live standup. It's amazing how what isn't funny anywhere else is a riot when someone on stage says it.

Depends if you think sticking a latex glove on your head is funny...
;D

Well, without being drunk, not really. But I guess that's a great way to be safe when one sticks their head up their ass.

I thought he had retired that bit.
Brian Regan is a great stand-up. I've seen him half a dozen times. Highly recommended.

I coulda swore I heard an interview with him years ago that he HAD to retire the glove-on-the-head bit because it was bursting blood vessels in his eyes or something like that.
The Amazing Jonathon is, to me, one of THE funniest comedians you could ever experience live. I still laugh watching him on TV and KNOWING what's coming!
And if Drew Carey was still doing standup...well.....

It's all about Pryor. The man was the ultimate master.

Can't quite experience him LIVE anymore, now can we?

Three options:
1) Time machine. Go back and check him out.
2) Dark arts. Resurrect his moldering corpse and make it do stand-up.
3) Science. Ressurect his moldering corpse and make zombie Pryor do stand-up. Before he eats your human flesh, that is.

You don't have a DVD player? It's worth the trip.

I'm still waiting for the prices to come down.

I saw "the Hemi guy" a while back. I believe his name was Jon Reep. He was really good. Fairly clean act too.
The guys that get up there and say a mediocre joke and then follow it up with the f-bomb just to get a few straggler laughs get old after a while.
