...or not (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300050305788&rd=1&rd=1).

I love how most of the bids on the PS3 are from people with 0 feedback
-
It's so they can back out without consequence.

That statement implies that any of these new, zero feedback bidders ever had any intention of purchasing a PS3. 99% of those accounts were created to mess with the PS3 auctions. Easy enough to eliminate them from the equation though.
My opinion, the winning bidder was a shill account established by someone looking to kill that fool's deliberately misleading auction.
-
It's possible. It's just as possible someone created 10 accounts so they could troll around for the least expensive unit while "reserving" 7-8 of them at the lower end.
-
Wow that guy is a :tool:
Wehn I see that sort of thing, I just want to reach through the screen and smack someone.
-
Yeah, smack the person who bought it.

It was probably some parents buying one for their kids that doesn't know anything about video games. You can't blame them for not knowing. I could totally see my mom making the same mistake (if she were in the PS3 market) and she's a smart woman.
-
You can't blame them for not knowing.
You can blame them for spending $900 without knowing for sure on what. Not knowing is one thing, chucking $900 at a shadow is pure stupidity.

Here's another dirty auction here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-PlayStation-3-PS3-Shirt-XL-IN-HAND_W0QQitemZ260054922211QQihZ016QQcategoryZ62054QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem).
The auction mentions a shirt, but only shows pictures of the PS3 and throws the PS3 name up everywhere. Then it talks about big bidding prices as if you were bidding on anactual PS3. I bet the winning bidder could argue this one and recoup their money.
-
Good lord. I had to read through the thing three times before even I caught the problem. That ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---'s funny.

This original limited edition XL SHIRT was obtain from
Circuitcity at 12am November 17th.
Dude, that's right square in there in giant letters. Sure, the intent is obvious, but that's not hard to see.
.This auction is not for a Playstation 3 console but for the limited editon Playstation 3 black t-shirt given at lunch
I bet you could argue that dude was NOT having lunch at midnight. :laugh2:

Maybe I just scanned through it all too quickly. I missed those references. It did seem misleading to show a picture of everything but the actual shirt, though.
-
There are three pictures. Two of them have the shirt. :dunno
-
Maybe it's been updated because of complaints. I only saw 1 picture, and it had everything except a shirt.
-
A listing usually indicates when (if) it was last edited, but I cannot remember if that is only after a bid has been placed or if it applies with no bids.
-
After putting my brother's PS3s on ebay for him I realized I hadn't mentioned anywhere that they were 60 GB units (though the picture showed it clearly enough on the box). I edited it to add the info before anybody had bid and it showed up as an edit, with a date/time.

How'd that go? There may be a bounce in the price as reports (read: rumors) of lowered 2006 shipping numbers are emerging. Good luck.

It went okay. About $1500 apiece. I mean, it went really ---smurfing--- great, but compared with the crazy prices from the day before it just went okay. I'm kicking myself for BIN not occurring to me. My brother wanted me to put it on for a week, because he figured the longer it was up the more bids it would get. I told him no way, that he needed to do the shortest auction possible, which was 24 hours. I'm retarded for not thinking of BIN, though. I put up the auction about noon or so Friday, so it probably would have meant an extra $1000 apiece. Live and learn.
. . . sometimes I tell people that they went for $2500 apiece just because it's fun and since I didn't get any money from it anyway I'm just saying, "My brother made $$$," which all I would have to do is substitute "my brother" for any one of the dozens, or maybe hundreds of other people who's PS3s actually did sell that high and higher and it would be true.
I'm not generally one to exaggerate, but this one seems harmless. :)
-
You're that guy in the convenience store saying "yep, my brother sold a couple, got 20Gs."
-
About $1500 apiece.
Nothing to sneeze at. :applaud:
